Lute
Reward from Princess Sarah after rescuing her from Garland. Required to open the time portal in the final dungeon.

Crown
Found in the Marsh Cave after defeating the Piscodemons. Present to the fake king in Western Keep to reveal Astos.

Crystal Eye
Dropped by Astos after defeating him. Trade to Matoya for the Jolt Tonic to wake the Elf Prince.

Jolt Tonic
Given by Matoya in exchange for her Crystal Eye. Use to wake the sleeping Elf Prince and receive the Mystic Key.

Mystic Key
Reward from the Elf Prince after using the Jolt Tonic. Opens all locked doors throughout the game world.

Nitro Powder
Found in a locked chest in Cornelia Castle. Give to Nerrick in Mount Duergar to blast open a canal.

Star Ruby
Dropped by the Vampire in the Cavern of Earth. Feed to the Giant to pass through Giant's Cave.

Earth Rod
Given by Sage Sarda after passing through Giant's Cave. Use on the stone plate in Cavern of Earth to access lower levels.

Canoe
Given by the Twelve Sages in Crescent Lake after defeating Lich. Allows travel on rivers to reach new areas.

Levistone
Dropped by the Evil Eye in the Cavern of Ice. Use in the Lykion Desert to raise the ancient Airship.

Rat's Tail
Found in a chest in the Citadel of Trials after defeating the Dragon Zombies. Present to King Bahamut for class upgrades.

Bottled Faerie
Purchase from the Desert Caravan for 40,000 Gil. Automatically releases when entering Gaia to give you the Oxyale.

Oxyale
Essential item for underwater breathing in the Sunken Shrine. Without it, you cannot progress to fight Kraken, the Fiend of Water.

Warp Cube
Given by the Robot in the Waterfall Cavern. Essential for teleporting from Mirage Tower to the Flying Fortress.

Rosetta Stone
Found in the Sunken Shrine's upper levels. Take to Dr. Unne in Melmond to learn the Lufenian language.

Chime
Given by a Lufenian after learning their language from Dr. Unne. Required to enter the Mirage Tower.

Adamantite
Found in the Flying Fortress. Take to the blacksmith Smyth in Mount Duergar to forge the legendary Excalibur.
